As I’ve said hundreds of times before, I’m a die-hard fan of Zach Cregger’s Barbarian. I fully believe that it’s one of the best horror movies of the last two decades, on par with Jordan Peele’s Get Out. In short, I’ve been incredibly excited for Cregger’s follow-up film Weapons, which has been described as a horror-tinged take on Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia. Reportedly, the script caused quite a bit of commotion with the studios when it was shopped around town in the spring of 2023. So much so that Jordan Peele, who wanted to produce the movie through his deal with Universal and his production company Monkeypaw, fired his agents after the project went to New Line instead.
After a string of short, creepy, and ominous teasers showing young kids ominously running out of their homes in the middle of the night, we finally got a full trailer. I didn’t think I could get any more excited about this one, but after that new trailer, I’m confident we’re in for a new horror classic. What was your reaction to the trailer?
